Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease caused by a specific type of coronavirus that targets the cells lining the intestines. It primarily affects young cats (0-2 years old) and older cats, with around 70% of cases showing the effusive (wet) form and 30% exhibiting the non-effusive (dry) form.
